Sponsor an East Timorese farmer
The MTG courses are being delivered around the rural town of Baguia, where farmers are planting native and introduced species of fodder, fuel, N-fertilizer, shade and timber. Due to high demand and scarce supplies sawn timber prices in Timor-Leste can often be higher than they are in Australia. The farmers know they need trees for conservation and to support agricultural production. They see growing timber as a saving scheme that might pay for their grandchild’s education or help them build a new house.
